In 2025, I was part of the production team that brought this year’s Yearbook to life. The theme centered around fisheye photography&nbsp;and the idea that&nbsp;we, as designers, are more than just our work—a reflection of individuality within a collective vision. Together with my teammates, I helped&nbsp;design visual mockups,&nbsp;organize and art-direct photoshoots, and&nbsp;code the website&nbsp;under the guidance of our instructor. From the start, we were aware of our differing musical tastes, which naturally led to two distinct songs. We embraced this contrast, using it as an opportunity to explore the concept of duality—focusing on the different facets of one’s personality. This theme is expressed through the front cover design, which features a pocket allowing viewers to change the fish head illustration. The fish appears dynamic and vibrant on the exterior, but as the packaging is opened, its inner world is revealed to be hollow and chaotic, symbolizing hidden layers of personality. We experimented with various folding techniques before finalizing the current design, which adds depth and interaction to the packaging. It highlights the duality concept further by revealing the contrasting characteristics of the fish on the record storage page. Additionally, the vinyl itself has no stickers, allowing the fish head beneath to remain visible. In order to create a sharp contrast with the colorful front and to match the music that I wrote, I choose to make the inner page in black and white, revealing the inner parts of the fish. Eclose allows users to view a single event from multiple international perspectives, comparing how different news outlets across countries report on the same story. To visualize this process of discovery, I designed a metamorphosis-inspired level system. Users begin as a&nbsp;caterpillarupon entering the app, then transform into a&nbsp;cocoon&nbsp;after selecting an event to explore. As they read and collect diverse viewpoints, they gradually&nbsp;emerge as a butterfly, symbolizing growth beyond filtered information. It showcases my&nbsp;personal collection of postcards&nbsp;gathered since I arrived in Los Angeles, organized by&nbsp;color&nbsp;to create a visual way of exploring memory and place. Users can browse the collection by selecting a color to reveal all postcards that share that hue. I compared my&nbsp;planned schedule&nbsp;with my&nbsp;actual sleep patterns, examining the reasons behind the significant gaps between the two. Each calendar page features a structured layout on the front, representing the planned and real timelines, while the&nbsp;back side transforms into expressive typographic compositions&nbsp;that record the causes of these discrepancies. The visual contrast between the orderly fronts and the experimental backs highlights the tension between intention and reality.
